Sure, you can make your own viewing devices at home, but that doesn't mean you can just wear any old thing and call it a day. But that hasn't stopped some people on the internet from showing off their creatively non-functioning solar eclipse glasses. They may not think the glasses will work, but they sure think they're funny.

Now that the big day is here, let's take a moment to laugh at these not-astronomer-approved glasses and hope people never actually wear them to stare at the sun.
