Chinese electric vehicle maker Zeekr will begin selling left-hand drive battery electric cars in Macau later this year,Dead Again followed by the availability of right-hand drive versions of its lineups in the city and neighboring Hong Kong in the third quarter of 2024. The company announced on Thursday that it will operate three retail locations in Hong Kong, including a clubhouse-style flagship store, as well as one smaller shop in Macau in the first half of next year, in partnership with local dealership Kam Lung Motor Group. This move represents the latest expansion effort by a Chinese EV maker into the emerging markets of the country’s two special administrative regions, as rivals Tesla, BYD, and NIO continue to attract local customers. An affiliate established by Volvo’s parent company Geely in early 2021, Zeekr is also exploring potential opportunities in other right-hand drive countries, including the UK and Japan, while simultaneously entering major overseas markets such as Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
